Elopement weddings at Woodside

If you’re planning to elope to Scotland, we have the perfect destination for you! Nestled amongst the trees in a private area on our family farm near St Andrews, The Hide is a magical woodland snug. The Hide sits in an idyllic wooded location with a pond and picturesque views over to the Eden Estuary and St Andrews Beach. It’s the ideal spot for an elopement wedding ceremony. Afterwards, it serves as a honeymoon or mini-moon accommodation, equipped with everything you could want for a romantic stay!

Secluded elopement destination

In Scotland, you can get married anywhere, including outdoors, as long as you have a registered celebrant and two witnesses. (Read the rules on marriage in Scotland here.) That means you can choose a beautiful spot here in our wooded area for a small, private ceremony. There’s space for the two of you, your celebrant and a small handful of guests, if you wish. Please let us know when booking if you are planning to do this.

Honeymoon and mini-moon accommodation

Before and after the ceremony, The Hide provides cosy accommodation for the happy couple, with one king bedroom, an ensuite shower room, kitchen and living space. Outside, enjoy a relaxing soak in the outdoor woodfired bath. Order your ingredients from us to make fresh pizza in the Ooni pizza oven. Or choose from a range of local gins and beers to sip while taking in the views from the private terrace.

Wedding guest accommodation

If you’re inviting a small number of guests along, we offer additional accommodation in our converted barn, just a short walk away. Up to 14 people can stay in the barn in total, across 6 self-catering apartments. Each apartment has private entry, 1 or 2 bedrooms, a large bathroom with walk-in shower, living area and kitchen. There’s also a shared garden.

Party room available for celebrations

When you book all six apartments in the barn, you’ll enjoy exclusive access to our spacious party room and commercial kitchen at no additional cost. You could have a post-elopement party in here! But please note, you’ll need to arrange any catering and other services yourself.
