Walking on West Sands
Maybe a walk along the beach is more what you are looking to do? If so this beach has 2 – 3 miles worth of sand to stroll. The Eden Estuary Nature Reserve sits at the far end and from here you can make use of the birdwatching platform if you are interested in spotting some winged wonders in the area. Be careful not to walk too far! There are warnings in place as you can get trapped by the tides. It takes around 90 minutes to walk to the end and back, allowing time to take in the wildlife and views. Additionally, a loop route takes you along the beach and back alongside the golf courses. This takes around 2 -2.5 hours. Walk the Highlands offers a full description with pictures and map of the route you can peruse before undertaking this walk.
