St Andrews West Sands Beach

West Sands Beach St Andrews in Scotland, known as West Sands, is most famously known for its role in Chariots of Fire. Here, the opening scenes were filmed along its 2-3 mile stretch of golden sands and dunes. Running by world-famous golf courses this beach is 15 minutes from the town centre. It is a must-visit attraction when on holiday in the area. A popular spot for a day of watersports, horse riding, walks along the beach, maybe a swim, fun with the kids and on those rare Scottish sunny days (we do get them occasionally) somewhere to kick back and catch some rays!
