A new name for Knockhill Farm in Scotland
Knockhill Farm has been a popular spot among tourists in St Andrews since we opened in 1996. Run by Linda and Peter Wood and family, the Knockhill Farm B&B had regular customers and a client base that thoroughly enjoyed their stays each and every time. This is partly because of our unfaltering commitment to providing enhanced and enjoyable accommodation and the incredible rolling hills on our doorstep.
However, after many years of Knockhill Farm B&B, we decided it was time for a change. So we began working on converting our beloved B&B into spacious, luxury self-catered apartments! These apartments maintain the stunning views of the countryside that customers have come to love about Knockhill Farm while allowing a much more flexible and independent experience.
A new name
These wonderful new apartments warranted a wonderful new name. So Knockhill Farm is now known as Woodside. Many people will still know us as Knockhill, and after so many years under that name, we understand. Deep down, we will always hold a place for Knockhill Farm in our hearts.
Woodside is a great base for those visiting St Andrews for a game or two of golf, and it makes a perfect holiday home for those up in Fife for a spot of hiking, sightseeing or even just a quiet weekend away. Whatever your holiday needs are in St Andrews, just as Knockhill served those needs before, Woodside will now.
New apartments
As part of the transformation, Woodside now has a fabulous selection of 5 luxury apartments in the converted barn, which was once the B&B. There are options suitable for families, couples, and everything in between.
There’s The Smithy, which accommodates four people across two bedrooms. The rooms have their own bathrooms, equipped with walk-in power showers, heated towel rails, demister mirrors, towels, and incredible complimentary toiletries. The space has an open-plan living and dining room, a kitchen complete with a fridge, dishwasher, cooker, two full sofas, a flat-screen TV, and, most importantly, stunning views of the St Andrews countryside.
If that’s not for you, then there is also The Byre; a ground floor accommodation option suitable for 2 guests. The apartment has a lounge area, tea and coffee-making facilities, a hospital tray, a small fridge, a flat-screen TV, and a king-sized bed in the bedroom. Topped off with a stunning luxury en-suite.
The Tack Room also accommodates two people, with a luxury bathroom on the ground floor that features a walk-in shower, heated towel rail, and a demister mirror. The bedroom is located up on the mezzanine level, where guests are greeted by a super king-size bed. The room is also equipped with a flat-screen TV, a lounge area, tea and coffee-making facilities, and a small fridge. The Hayloft and The Granary all have a very similar layout, with a mezzanine bedroom and a large downstairs bathroom.
Introducing The Hide
In addition, we are introducing our first luxury woodland snug, The Hide. Separate from the other apartments, this cosu hide is nestled amongst the trees, suitable for 2 guests to stay. It is a place to relax, unwind and be amongst nature. This is a completely secluded escape, with a private outdoor bath, seating area and pizza oven!
The same passion
Although our name has changed, Woodside still has exactly the same amount of passion as it has always had. We do everything we can to make sure our guests have a wonderful time. The accommodation overlooks the stunning countryside and has a beautiful relaxing garden. The farm also has pedigree Charollais sheep, with the joy of lambs on the farm in March. They are so cute that it’s worth booking a visit just to see them!
