St Andrews visitor attractions

There are so many wonderful visitor attractions in our local area. Historic attractions include the ruins of St Andrews Castle and Cathedral. These two landmarks are within a 5-minute walk of one another and offer an insight into the town’s fascinating past.

St Andrews is the home of golf, and therefore the prestigious Old Course is a must-see attraction, whether you get a chance to play, or simply stand on the famous Swilcan Bridge.

This is a beautiful town, with many picturesque walks to enjoy. Take a stroll along West Sands Beach or visit the peaceful St Andrews Botanic Garden.

Our closest whisky distillery is Kingsbarns Distillery, where you can take a tour, learn about Scotch whisky production and sample a dram for yourself.

Exploring Fife and Scotland

Our location near St Andrews is a great base from which to explore the rest of Fife and many other places in Scotland. The traditional fishing villages in the East Neuk of Fife make fantastic day trips. We are also close to the city of Dundee, which has a wealth of museums and galleries, arts and theatre venues, shops, bars and restaurants.

St Andrews has its own bus station, with services to other local towns and villages. You can get the bus to Leuchars, where you’ll find the nearest train station, linking you with even more great places to visit. Including Scotland’s capital, Edinburgh, which is only around an hour away by rail.
